Haiku Poems - Nature

HAIKU
A poetry form, with three lines. The first being 5 syllables, the second 7, then 5 in the third.
The Haiku usually contains the elements of the spiritual or the human condition within nature.
I often will deviate from the purity of the definition.

Among my Haiku poems are my worse, and my best.
The more traditional theme for the haiku will be found in the Nature, Creation & Pet categories.

High Flight

Circling, soaring,
height of flight, scavenger scouts;
eagle majestic.

Reality

Forest thick, sun shines,
chirps in flight, squirrels chatter,
cougar perch to pounce.

Rodent's swift scurry,
sky's height advantage perch,
eagle swoops in flight.

Outdoor Screen

Trees, brush, waterfalls;
strong stiff stride of hiker's trek;
nature's theater.

Spring...Summer

Warm fresh scented air,

alive with springtime's essence,

hail summer’s approach.

Pretty Flower

Pretty flower blooms,

cultivated more springs up,

it's really a weed.

Filter Red

Red skies beckons come,
unto natures beauty scene,
filtered evening light.

To View

Sun setting below,
lightless sky revealing truth.
Beauty fades to dark.

Enemy Flame

Reaching swirling flame,
snuffs out life consuming death,
fire burns merciless.

Talking Fury

Kindling fuel ignites,
burning, jumping, spreading fire,
destructive rumors.

Nature's Remembrance

Memorial stand,
now charred trunk from forest past,
cemetery cross.

Umbrella

Branches reaching out,
sprouting leaves to shade the ground,
picnic's canopy.

Seasons Blend

Trees leaf in springtime,
provides shade of summertime,
weather culminates.
