I was raised in a Democratic home
having learned the Republicans were only for the rich, not caring for the
average "Joe." When old enough to vote and when in doubt I voted Democrat.
I did not believe the comments I had heard for years that if a Christian, one
must be a Republican. My attitude was, "There is not that much difference
between the parties." . . . NOT !!!
Then Pat Robertson chooses the GOP ticket to run in 1988. I took a look at both
the Democrat and Republican platforms and asked myself, "Why? Am I a Democrat?"
To my surprise, the Platforms and resolutions of the Republican Party more
closely aligned with my values.
I found those of the Democrat platform at odds with my values. I found the
Democrat Party had taken a divergent path away from the values set by the
Founding Fathers. The Democrat Party is now a party of special interest
with each faction promoting their own agenda, yet willing to forgo their own
principles for the ultimate goal of electing liberal Democrats who will, when in
office, work towards promoting the special liberal interests of those who helped
elect them to office; even if it infringes upon the protections of the
Constitution of the United States of America and the rights established by that
Constitution.
When I was apathetic and uninformed I was a Democrat.
In about three months time, I
went from being an apathetic, uninformed and ignorant Democrat, to becoming a
Republican activist, participant in the Right Wing Conspiracy, whose sole
purpose is to strive for the eradication of the Left Wing Conspiracy.
