Keep your sites
on Christ and the ministries will come. Some people get their sites on
what their ministry should be rather than keeping their eyes on Him.
They sometimes find themselves in a ministry but not in God's will. Some
people never 'find their ministry', but just walking in His steps
keeping Him first; walking with Him; in, out, around and through many
ministries. Don't strive for a ministry or His gifts, but strive to
conform to His image, and all will be added.
(Addendum, 2005) The person who faithfully makes a point to greet
newcomers but has no other visibility in the church may be in the
ministry God has ordained. The person who attends all
functions and asserts themselves into some may be too busy trying to
find and prove their ministry that they fail to hear the voice of God.
I may have found my ministry, and it does not fall where I would have
expected. I will not dwell on whether I have or have not my
ministry but whether I am obeying Christ. I will trust Him that He
will keep me in His way, whether by the Word of God or other reprove of
the Pastor or others acting in His interest.
